Hand-dyed long-sleeve pullover applying Japan's traditional "Hikizome" dyeing technique.

Dyeing is a current trend, but this time we focused on two main points. The first is [reconstruction].
Typically, the orthodox method is to make a pure white product from bleached or P-grade fabric and dye the entire product.
Based on the concept of transforming existing items into new forms, we sewed three different colors of fabric that were already dyed with reactive dyes, and then colored them using a dyeing process suitable for each fabric color.

The light color is simply to enjoy the beauty of Hikizome. The middle color combines Hikizome with a technique called "discharge dyeing". The black color is created by mixing dyes with a special blend to express a color that doesn't completely discharge.
Please enjoy the three distinct finishes.

The second is [utilizing the characteristics of the production area]. While dyeing is now a processing method seen in various regions, we used techniques that a Kyoto dyeing factory, which I personally have a fondness for and have worked with, excels at. I hope this will be an opportunity to raise awareness of their technical prowess.

The fabric uses mini French terry, so it can be worn like a long-sleeve T-shirt for a long period throughout the year.

DESCRIPTION

This hand-dyed long-sleeve pullover utilizes "hikizome," a traditional Japanese dyeing technique.

While dyeing is currently a popular trend, we focused on two main aspects this time. The first is **reconstruction**. Typically, the orthodox method involves creating a pure white product from bleached or P-fabric and then dyeing the entire product. However, under the concept of transforming existing items into new forms, we stitched together three different colors of fabric that were already dyed with reactive dyes, and then colored them using dyeing processes suited to each fabric's original color.

The lighter colors allow you to simply enjoy the beauty of hikizome. The mid-range colors combine hikizome with a technique called discharge dyeing. The black uses a special dye mixture to express color in areas where even discharge dyeing couldn't completely remove the color. Please enjoy the unique finishes of all three.

The second aspect is **leveraging regional characteristics**. While dyeing is a processing method seen in various regions today, I have a personal attachment to and have been supported by a dyeing factory in Kyoto. We used techniques they specialize in, hoping this could be an opportunity for their technical prowess to gain wider recognition.

The fabric is made of mini fleece, so you can wear it like a long-sleeve T-shirt for an extended period throughout the year.
